….thirsty…

August 1st, 2020:

This chapter of Mulch the Planet started just about one year ago. I had moved to SLO August 2019, and the local paper was the New Times.

The cover title was written “Thirsty for Sustainability” under an image of two dry hands, cupping dusty soil. Plain to see, this soil was entirely void of water and thus low on life. The soil slide out between the fingers, sounding a not-too-slow hourglass. No worms or bugs dancing in the soil.

It was then I decided to focus my agriculture efforts on not growing food but growing soil. In my yard, in your yard, at your farm, next to the seas. Anywhere and everywhere, I’ll grow a dance floor for the red wigglers to perform their practical magic. #growthesoil #redwiggler
