Container Bed Gardening @ Panzer House
Scope: 2 Backyard Container Beds + Composting System
Budget: $700 +materials
Timeline: 1 week installation + ongoing garden education
For this project we helped the residents of the historic Panzer household to site, construct, and plant container beds in their back yard for homegrown veggies. We also sourced a worm bin for home composting systems. Plant selections were made based off families top vegetable consumption, tomatoes, cucumbers, kale, lettuce, and green beans where the main edible crops. Zinnias, calendula, mint, lavender where some of the other decorative and aromatic plants. A couple of winter hearty perennial shrubs were also used in the more decorative bed placed along the garage. The main deeper vegetable bed was later easily relocated to become a center piece of the outdoor gathering space around brick patio with lounge furniture and fire pit.
In following seasons, when less time was available to manage vegetable production, we helped the Panzer house pick and plant the best perennial flowers for their home use, including delicious aromatics, herbs, and bouquet flowers.
